Dear AMROA Members,

It is hard to believe that it is already March and we are beginning our plans for the Summer Conference!  Your officers will be meeting March 28 with Tommy Pow to finalize the details and we welcome your suggestions.  If you have a topic or speaker suggestions please pass that information on to one of the officers.  As most of you have noticed the dates for the conference were recently changed.  This change was necessary because the NBBLO Conference was scheduled for the exact same dates as our conference.  Traditionally the NBBLO conference is the 3^rd week of July but for some reason they changed it this year. Thankfully we were able to find alternate dates at Guntersville State Park Lodge and will be meeting there July 16-18. 

As I mentioned in my last letter we are seeking volunteers for a by-laws review committee and a committee to study the feasibility of hiring a part-time administrator for AMROA.  If you are interested in being more active in AMROA and would be willing to serve on either of these committees please contact me.  

AMROA will have a booth again this year at the League of Municipalities Convention.  John Powell has been working on getting volunteers to work the booth and I appreciate his hard work.  This has proven to be a great way for us to solicit new members and educate the elected officials about who and what we are.  We always receive very positive feedback from this event and appreciate the League allowing us to be represented there. 

 This year has flown by for me as your President.  It has been a very busy year for each of us professionally and for me personally as well.  I think we have all risen to the demands placed on us and have grown from the experience.  I know that AMROA has in some way helped each of us accomplish these changes thru education and support of each other.  Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your President.  Please send your suggestions and I look forward to seeing each of you soon.
