AMROA Nominating Committee Seeks Nominations

The Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the following 2010-2011 positions:

*        President-Elect
*        Vice President
*        Secretary
*        Treasurer
*        Board of Directors


The Nominating Committee is made up of the following members:  Tammy Blackburn, Ozark; Mike Cranmore, Tuscaloosa; Cameron Grounds, Madison & Haley Burford, Glencoe.

Please contact any member with your nomination(s) no later than July 1, 2010.  Those nominated must get a letter from their supervisor/department head or city official supporting their participation.  Officers elected must be able to attend the Summer and Winter Conferences and two conference planning sessions.

Please keep in mind that nominations will be accepted from the floor at the Summer Conference, but only if the nominee has a letter of support from his/her designated city or town.  Current President-Elect Haley Burford will be the president during the upcoming year.


Jack Young Retires
 
Jack Young, a member for twenty years, retired on April 30 to spend a lot more time
with grandsons Jackson and Cade.  Jack was the 1998-1999 AMROA President and served
twice as a director on the AMROA Board.  We thank Jack for his many years of service
to AMROA and wish him, Jackson and Cade a "fun" retirement!

HYLAND RECEIVES APPOINTMENT
 
Pat Hyland of Mobile has been appointed to replace the retired Earl Lavender on the ALTIST Board. He joins our other municipal representatives Board Secretary Linda McKinney of Tuscaloosa and Phyllis Koon from Pelham. At the next ALTIST board meeting in July, the latest graduates from the CRE program will be certified and an announcement of who they are will be forth coming.


Kathy Woodward Changes Job and Location
 
2009-2010 AMROA President Kathy Woodward has recently changed jobs from Orange Beach, AL and is now the Revenue Clerk for the City of Pelham. She also plans to host the 2010 AMROA Summer Conference in Pelham, AL on August 4-6, 2010. Congratulations to Kathy and we wish her well in her new position with the City of Pelham.
