2009 League Convention
On May 3-4, AMROA members participated in the Alabama League of Municipalities 2009 Annual
Convention in Montgomery. Charles Wilson (Montgomery) and Faye Comer (Montgomery)
updated the booth signage prior to the event. Although not in the picture below,
Kathy Woodard (Orange Beach) set up and staffed the booth on the first evening. The
picture shows AMROA members Jack Young (Gadsden), Haley Burford (Gadsden), Pat Hyland
(Mobile) and Gwen Hall (Mobile) who staffed the booth on the second day and shared
information with numerous elected officials, city clerks and others. AMROA President
Gwen Hall was also at the head table during the luncheon at which Governor Bob Riley was
the speaker. Interest in the event seemed particularly high, perhaps in part due to all
the new council members in attendance. AMROA thanks these dedicated members and
their cities for providing time to promote the advantages of AMROA membership.
